Phoenix Thoroughbreds and Aquis Farm continued their activity at the Magic Million Gold Coast Yearling Sale by acquiring two more colts on the fourth day of selling.
The duo takes the partnership’s total number of purchases to 15 for the sale and again Not A Single Doubt was at the forefront of their minds. Aquis boss Shane McGrath this week described the sire’s progeny as “limited editions” so it came as no surprise the stallion syndicate spring for their seventh son of the now pensioned stallion.
That being Lot 768, a flashy chestnut out of Group Two placed Sebring mare Serena Bay. From the Edinburgh Park draft and complete with a now almost trademark white blaze the colt is from the family of listed scorer Caiguna and the prolific winner All Washed Up.
The Phoenix/Aquis team also had their collective attention drawn to Lot 828. Out of a half-sister to the partnership’s stallion Invader and multiple-group winner Notlistenin’tome the son of Fastnet Rock is related to many classy performers including, but not limited to, stakes winners What Can I Say, Only Words and Darci Be Good.
