Speaking from his perfectly appointed offices, which actually overlook Godolphin’s Al Quoz as well as UAE Champion Trainer Doug Watson’s Red Stables, founder Abdulaziz explains:

It has been a massive project and was in the pipeline for about four years before we were actually able to launch.

We have massive ambition, we do not deny that; we want to compete with the very best at the very top, both in terms of racing and breeding.

That is all part of our vision; to breed top class horses to race for our investors and trade as necessary to secure a profit, as well as a lot of fun along the way!

There is no other Thoroughbred investment fund in the world like Phoenix Thoroughbreds. We are registered in Luxembourg and the head office is based in Dubai, with operations in different countries.

An investment fund such as ours is unique within the industry and, finally, has been endorsed by the relevant authorities in Luxembourg so we can promote it as such.

Amer Abdulaziz Salman (CEO)

Formed in 2017, Phoenix Thoroughbred has purchased more than $25 million in bloodstock while establishing stables in the United States, Europe, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

The company was founded by Dubai-based businessman and racing enthusiast Amer Abdulaziz.

Among Phoenix Thoroughbreds’ horses are the Bob Baffert-trained Grade 1 winner Dream Tree and Stakes winner Gronkowski who was most recently second in the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes, the concluding leg of the American Triple Crown.

He is being aimed at the Breeders’ Cup Classic with next year’s Dubai World Cup, hopefully, on his agenda.

Filly Take Me With You was placed in the Albany Stakes during the prestigious Royal Ascot meeting of 2017 while, this year, Signora Cabello carried the Phoenix silks to a famous victory in the Queen Mary Stakes at the royal meeting.

She is an exciting juvenile as is recent acquisition Pocket Dynamo, runner-up at Royal Ascot in the Norfolk Stakes and set to become a first Breeders’ Cup runner for trainer Robert Cowell.

As the burgeoning organisation grows, in all aspects of the industry, the target is to be a worldwide force able to compete competitively with the powerhouses such as Coolmore and Godolphin.
