Phoenix Thoroughbreds enjoyed more success as international breeders as D’Oro Street galloped to glory at Lone Star Park this past weekend.
By Medaglia D’Oro and out of winning mare Street Show, the Luis Fuentes trained runner got off the mark in style at the Texas track, capping off a run of promising performances. The three-year-old filly had hit the places on three of her previous six starts at Oaklawn and Churchill Downs, all while posting very encouraging speed figures. She again found just one too good on her first run at Lone Star before returning to somewhere near her best with a fine front-running performance to break her maiden’s tag.
The success of her 2020 progeny further adds to the growing resume of Street Show. Her first foal Walking Thunder proved a major success in Dubai, winning three times before placing in the Group 3 UAE 2000 Guineas, while three-time winner Emoji Guy was her last produce before she joined the Phoenix Thoroughbreds broodmare band. She currently has a filly yearling by Violence, making the youngster a full-sister to the aforementioned Walking Thunder, a foal by Coolmore’s Mendelssohn and this season is in foal to Munnings.
