Phoenix Thoroughbreds’ Loving Gaby is on course for an early October return while the Myer Stakes is likely to be her ultimate goal.
The exciting filly is working well towards her three-year-old debut and took another step forward with a jump-out at Caulfield last week. With that under her belt, Co-Trainer David Eustace told TDN Australia that she is almost ready to kick-off her campaign.
“She’ll have another hit-out and probably kick off in the Listed Poseidon Stakes at Flemington on October 5 over 1100 metres down the straight,” Eustace said.
The I Am Invincible filly measured up favourably with her two-year-old peers, first by winning the Group Three Chairman’s Stakes on debut before collecting significant prize money in the four premier Group Ones for juveniles. Now, having seen back in full training Eustace is confident she can continue her progression as a three-year-old.
“She’s definitely strengthened up, and she’s grown,” explained Eustace. “In all areas, she has made that physical progression that you always hope they can make from two to three.
“She’s training really nicely and looks great. She’s on track for the Poseidon, the Myer at the back end of the carnival is the race we are looking to target with her. The Guineas will be a shade too soon.”
