A first UAE runner for Phoenix, having previously been campaigned in the UK by Jeremy Noseda, winning one of his three starts, the 3yo More Than Ready colt was kept busy by Ali Rashid Al Rayhi. His local campaign consisted of six races and began at the first Meydan meeting of 2018 when he ran an excellent third in a 1400m (7f) conditions race.

That was an excellent start to his UAE career but bettered, on his fourth outing for Al Rayhi, when finding only Godolphin’s Gold Town too good in the Group 3 UAE 2000 Guineas over 1600m (1m).

With that Classic placing under his girth, he was then seventh in both the Al Bastakiya on Super Saturday and a 1400m conditions race at Jebel Ali.

With a Dubai summer on his back to fully acclimatise, he looks an interesting prospect for the forthcoming season, his second in the UAE.
