Interesting juvenile recruit and this colt is by ‘upwardly mobile’ stallion Munnings who has wasted little time siring Grade One winners. Trained by Robert Cowell, he is the third foal out of Ice Crystal whose first two foals are both winners in Canada where she, herself, was also victorious.
A daughter of Henny Hughes, she is a half-sister to no less than eight others to have been victorious and whose dam, Seek, was an unraced Devil’s Bag mare who is actually a half-sibling a standout nine winners. The most notable of that nonet was Discover, successful at Grade Three level when landing the Fairmount Derby.
The pedigree is littered with big race winners throughout North America, as well as Europe and as far afield as Japan.
He made his racecourse debut as a juvenile in October 2018, contesting a very hot looking novice stakes on the all-weather at Chelmsford.
His inexperience showed but he displayed a lot of promise and looks certain to improve immeasurably for the initial experience. Winning races should prove well within his compass.
