A product of Phoenix Thoroughbreds' successful Southern Hemisphere breeding operation, Cerda has all the hallmarks of a very exciting filly.
Out of winning I Am Invincible mare Comprende and by champion sire Snitzel, the filly as a pedigree full of black-type winners. From the family of Group winners Excites Lady and Zelady's Night Out, the juvenile is also related to the Prolific high-profile winner Bound To Honour.
It seems those talented bloodlines are translating to the track too. Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Cerda ran two very promising races to get her career off to a great start, including a closing second in the $1million Golden Gift at Rosehill. It's a result that qualified the potential star for the prestigious two-year-old contest, the Golden Slipper, a race won last year by another Phoenix bred in Farnan.
