Hell Hound seeks to maintain her unbeaten tag.

Hell Hound seeks to maintain her unbeaten tag.

It would appear that promising prospect Hell Hound is well named after co-trainer Michael Kent Jr described her as “a bit of a bitch” but insisted that is no bad thing.

The Phoenix Thoroughbreds homebred, and half-sister to G2 winner Letzbeglam, impressed when winning on debut at Terang. She takes to the track again at Sandown this weekend, where she’ll be the favourite to maintain her unbeaten record.

“She’s a gorgeous horse,” Kent Jr said. “I’ve been riding her during the week and she’s got strength, scope, quality and she has a very good turn of foot.”

“She’s one of those horses in the stable that you don’t work with other horses because she just tries to kill them.

“She’s got a bit of a bitch about her, which is a good trait to have in a filly because she just pins her ears back and runs on race day as well.”

Mick Price’s training partner added that the team would see how this weekend pans out before making plans for the daughter of Hellbent.
