Four more for Phoenix and Aquis at the Magic Millions Sale.

Four more for Phoenix and Aquis at the Magic Millions Sale.

Phoenix Thoroughbreds and Aquis Farm once again delved into their collective pockets to but four colts on the third day of trading at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.

The partnership, who enjoyed top-level success last year with soon to be Kia Ora stallion Farnan, brought their total up to 13 recruits overall from one of the Southern Hemisphere’s Premier Yearling Sale.

Their stallion of choice appears to be Not A Single Doubt, the sire of the aforementioned Golden Slipper winner, with three of the newest quartet progeny of the producer of champions.

Lot 612 was one of four buys for Phoenix Thoroughbreds and Aquis Farm on the third day of trading at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

They were topped by the $1.8million Lot 612 from the Emirates Park draft. Complete with a trademark white blaze he is the first foal out of Group Two winner One More Honey, herself a sister to the classy Vega One, while the family tree also includes G2 winner and G1 placed Lan Kwai Fong. The stallion syndicate also went to seven figures to secure Lot 529 from the Baramul Stud offering. He is out of a winning mare and his deep pedigree includes multiple Group winners Military Rose and Zestful. The third of the Not A Single Doubt trio is Tyreel Stud’s Lot 508, from the family of G1 success story Tidal Light. Out of unraced Lonhro mare Magic Nera, a full sister to black-type winning Tromso, the colt numbers Listed winners Feelers and Kamacite among his relations.

In a departure from snapping up son’s of Not A Single Doubt, there was no real surprise the partnership opted to buy Lot 576, considering he is from the same family as Farnan. By Redoute’s Choice and out of winning mare Mount Zero he is a full brother to winning two-year-old Charm School. He has a page full of prolific winners and is from a family his new owners know exceptionally well.
