The Phoenix Ladies owned Euphoric Summer is drawn in barrier six for the A$2million Magic Millions Two-Year-Old Classic on Saturday.
Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Junior the filly arrives for the Gold Coast race as the leading prize money earner in the field. A promising second on her debut the juvenile followed that with victory at Ballarat in the Clockwise Classic before placing in Group Three company last time out.
“The draws ideal as he’ll most likely break from barrier five with an emergency runner drawn inside of us.” Kent Junior told Racing.com post the draw. “We were a bit slow away last time in the Group Three two weeks ago so if we can bounce and just be behind the speed in fourth, fifth or sixth that would be ideal.
“She’s been here (at Eagle Farm) for four weeks now and had a gallop on the course proper Tuesday morning at Eagle Farm. She worked upsides and worked to the line nicely, so we’re really happy with her.”
As an all-female owned entrant, Euphoric Summer qualifies for the A$500,000 bonus, put up by Magic Millions, distributed to the first four all-female owned or leased horses in finishing order, on top of their race winnings.
