Ethical Judgement continues to prove a colt of great potential thanks to his impressive victory at Churchill Downs on Sunday, May 9.
The Phoenix Thoroughbreds owned runner took his record to two wins in four starts with a dominant front running display on a wet track in Kentucky. Moreover, Brendan Walsh’s trainee is yet to finish outside the top pair in any of his limited and well-managed career runs.
The victory looked straightforward in its execution, thanks to a well-judged ride from Tyler Gaffalione. The rider gunned his progressive mount from the gates a quickly set dictating matters off the front end of the field. The big, strong colt travelled powerfully throughout, and while Gafflione remained motionless in the plate until just before the quarter pole, many of his colleagues were hard at work. Inside the stretch, it quickly became a case of how far would the son of Honor Code win by? The answer to that question was three and a half lengths eased down.
