Dancin All Alone sparkled under the Sam Houston lights as she made a winning debut for owners Phoenix Thoroughbreds on Saturday night.
The Texas-bred had been showing some promise in her daily works but was step perfect as she ran out a near four-length winner in the five and a half furlong maiden. Steve Asmussen booked jockey Deshawn Parker for the ride on the daughter of Congrats and following plenty of market interest, the filly arrived at the post in the top two in the betting.
A $150,000 purchase for Phoenix, she has already started paying that back with a display that showed promise of more to come. Breaking well from the gates Parker hustled his mount up into a share of the lead early. By the time the field had reached the turn Dancin All Alone was by herself in the lead and it soon became apparent she was moving like the winner. At the top of the stretch with Parker only gently asking for more the jockey’s in behind were noticeably more animated as they tried to close her down. Ultimately, they’d fail in that quest as Dancin All Alone pulled further clear for a comfortable victory.
The victory gave the Dubai based owners win number 98 Worldwide and a second victory in as many days following Prague’s success in Australia.
